Description
La zopiclone est un agent hypnotique qui fait partie des composés cyclopyrrolones. Il déclenche et maintient rapidement le sommeil sans réduction du sommeil paradoxal total et en préservant le sommeil lent. Des effets résiduels négligeables sont observés le lendemain matin. Ses propriétés pharmacologiques incluent des actions hypnotiques, sédatives, anxiolytiques, anticonvulsives et myorelaxantes. Celles-ci sont liées à sa haute affinité et à son effet agoniste spécifique sur les récepteurs centraux appartenant au complexe macromoléculaire modulant l’ouverture des canaux chlorures. Cependant, il a été démontré que la zopiclone et d’autres cyclopyrrolones agissent sur un site différent de celui des benzodiazépines, y compris des changements de conformation différents dans le complexe récepteur.
