Sibutramine 20mg 50 tabs – General-Pharma, which is the active ingredient in Reductil (usually in the form of the hydrochloride salt monohydrate), is an oral anorectic. Until recently, it was marketed and prescribed as an adjunct treatment for extrinsic obesity.

Description
Sibutramine is a drug produced since 1997 and used as an adjunct treatment for nutritional obesity. It is a phenylethylamine anorectic that causes a modification of brain amines, resulting in a decrease in appetite and a feeling of satiety.
Sibutramine works by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine. But, unlike Fenfluramine and its derivatives, it does not increase the level of circulating serotonin and therefore would not have the cardiac side effects of the latter. It increases the feeling of satiety and therefore decreases food intake. Sibutramine is particularly effective, it acts from the start of the cycle (after 2/3 days only).
It is not recommended to exceed 12 months of treatment and to use Sibutramine if you have a history of cardiovascular disease.
