Nolvadex contains tamoxifen citrate. It is not an anabolic steroid but an oral anti-estrogen. Nolvadex prevents gynecomastia while reducing water and fat retention, and it helps to stimulate testosterone production in the testicles.
Nolvadex is a powerful anti-estrogen and a favorite among bodybuilders. It helps prevent the feminizing effects that frequently occur at the end of an anabolic steroid cycle, such as gynecomastia and water retention in the hips and breasts. Indeed, at the end of a cycle, most anabolic steroids aromatize into estrogen, causing these symptoms. Tamoxifen citrate blocks estrogen receptors, thus preventing estrogen from acting and causing these effects. Many bodybuilders use Nolvadex before competitions because, in addition to preventing gynecomastia, reducing water and fat retention helps them achieve a lean physique.
Finally, Nolvadex has the ability to increase endogenous testosterone production, which is particularly appreciated by bodybuilders at the end of a cycle. Indeed, at the end of a cycle, testosterone production is generally quite low because, throughout the cycle, the anabolic steroids used have inhibited and replaced it. Serious problems can therefore occur after stopping a steroid cycle if natural testosterone production is not restored to normal levels. Nolvadex helps prevent this type of problem by restarting testosterone production in the testicles.
The main drawback of Nolvadex is that it reduces the gains produced by anabolic steroids. This is why many athletes only use it when absolutely necessary to prevent gynecomastia. As for the side effects of this product, they are generally limited to some nausea and minor vision problems. Finally, it should be noted that while Nolvadex blocks estrogen receptors and prevents estrogen from acting, it does not eliminate this hormone from the body. This means that after stopping Nolvadex treatment, a significant amount of estrogen that had remained inactive can suddenly bind to the newly released receptors, causing the feminizing effects that were previously avoided. This phenomenon can be prevented by combining Nolvadex with another potent anti-estrogen such as Proviron, for maximum effectiveness. It's important to clarify that Nolvadex and Proviron are two anti-estrogens with different yet complementary mechanisms of action, which is why combining them is so effective: Nolvadex blocks estrogen receptor cells, preventing estrogen from acting, while Proviron prevents the aromatization of anabolic steroids. This combination is therefore remarkably effective.
20 mg per day is usually sufficient to prevent gynecomastia.
